M&G Cafe and Bar in Queensland

"The food here is well priced we came here for breakfast. The service is fantastic and the choice of food was really good. The quality of the food that came out was what I expect from a high end Cafe without the price. Seating was comfortable and everything was seasoned perfectly even the grilled tomato. The bacon was amazing and the poached eggs perfectly cooked can't fault them. The muesli was vibrant and smelled amazing with the orange zest and lemon balm garnish. The only complaint and it's small is 1. Please stop garnishing breakfast with rocket... use chives parsley a basil sprig... anything except rocket ... and the muesli could have used a little more yoghurt. There wasn't quite enough to cover all the crunch. Other wise perfectly done well priced and great service."

"While staying at the Grand Star hotel, we ate breakfast here and what a surprise. The food was delicious (decent portion size as well), affordable prices, friendly staff and seatings is very spacious and make sure you come early as it does get busy here."

"Bought a takeaway on a few occasions, and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! Scones are so fluffy not overly sweet, absolutely perfect! Loved their Ruben sandwich, they're difficult to find in other cafes, so was glad to see I can get them here. Salmon bowl was wondering too, fresh, flavoursome and full of ingredients. Had to take one star for the service that can be improved. And croissant was burnt, we only realised when got home and opened the box."

"After our meal next door, we decided to stop in here for coffee and cake. Our order was served in a timely manner. The staff looked quite busy and seemed a bit understaffed, but they were still friendly and lively. The coffee was delicious, while the cake was just okay. The ambience, however, was lovely."

"We recently were staying at the Dorsett and wanted an easy breakfast option, the MG Cafe was perfect. The staff were friendly, food came out fresh and hot. No complaints from us, and it was a nice relaxing breakfast before heading off to our daughter’s wedding !!"

"5th visit oct 2025 5 star The Ruben sandwich was decent. Bacon egg roll with hash browns on the side was perfect. I wish there was fresh spinach and tomato inside in the roll.Coffee and almond croissant were as good as before. The price is very good for the quality. Arianna arranged our orders accurately. Food arrived fresh, warm and promptly. The service was warm and friendly. We forgot to take our water bottle ( our favorite water bottle) when we left the place. Arianna chased up and returned our bottle to us with a big smile . Thank you so much ! 4th visit June 2025 3 star We ordered the bacon egg roll by mistake as we thought it was the same as before ! But it has changed for the worse ( see the last photo) ! The roast tomato and spinach are replaced by this awful hash brown . The sauce has changed too! Pls bring the previous bacon egg burger/ roll back !!!! The service is good with friendly courteous waitresses and we didn't wait for too long. The coffees are decent and even more improved compared to previous years . The almond croissant is the best ! light and fluffy with a nice almond flavoured filling. I prefer this lighter version to the others which are much heavier. Please don't change it ! 3rd visit July 2024 5 star We had the best bacon n egg roll ! The bacons were juicy and freshly made . The sauce was sensational. Also included spinach and tomato slices ! Pls keep it in the menu forever ! Second visit 2/8/23 , 5 star Again we had the bacon n egg roll. The best ever as always ! This time the Byron bay bacons were used, so juicy and flavorful! The almond crossiants there were so fresh, fluffy, full of almond fillings and flavour and yet light. This is a unique version of almond crossiants , different to the others . Pls keep it forever !"
